Abandoned Valleys

Dumb question: I have a abandoned valley next to me. You can raid them correct without repurcussion...?

I think you are referring to an Oasis. You cant raid it however you can capture one once you get a heros mansion to level 10. Once its captured you get resource bonuses.

I was talking about just a random, unsettled area with no animals But found it if it has a green raid you can do it, but animals are bad unless got lots of troops and a hero. Or if you have settlers.

The ones with "critters" on them can be really bad. Lost some scouts just looking at one of 'em.

It is best to use the combat simulator on the osis before you send your troops into an oasis. That way you know if your troops are going to be enough for the animals or if it is just a sucide mission
